The automation of the leak detections on pipelines by foot and by car.

This automation functions with our own Pipeline Management system. This system can function with a wide variety of GIS map formats.
With a minimum of actions, all data can be collected on-site.
All data input is done with a tablet pc with touchscreen.
To this system, a GPS tracking device is connected.
By using this device, all coordinates can be automatically imported while marking the indication on the displayed map. After marking the indication on screen, our operator fills out all required data.

The GPS device also allows that the map is moving along with the operator, so no scrolling is necessary in the map screen.
Also, automatic logging on is performed using the GPS data, to indicate which zones already have been surveyed. This provides the necessary history data for future tracking.
At the end of their activities, the operators put all files on our central server.
Our administrator then imports all those files onto the central Pipeline Management system.
After this import, he performs a last quality check of all indication information, and exports each one to the report template. This latter can be adjusted according to the customers' request.

This automation allows us to minimize data transfer errors and increases the quality of the indication report.
