During the month of June, The Sniffers organized 2 breakfast sessions at different locations. These breakfast sessions were limited to 2 hours of presentations dealing with all the important items concerning the upcoming Belgian law for fugitive emission management, SMART LDAR supported by a fugitive emission software in .net version, infrared camera’s for VOC-scanning and other possible cost reducing services etc., of course after a nice breakfast to start with. Since the participants are working in different areas such as management, R&D, HSEQ, … the sessions were very interactive with a lot of supporting opinions. After the informative part, the participants had the opportunity to join a helicopter flight. We were fortunate with the excellent weather conditions, which resulted in an interesting end to both these breakfast sessions.

The goal of these breakfast sessions was bipartite:

1. Meeting our customers in a relaxed atmosphere, away from the office;
2. Introducing our company to potential customers;
3. Giving the participants the opportunity to network with their peers;
4. Compare the approaches and opinions of the different companies;
5. Informing everybody about the upcoming new Belgian law concerning fugitive emission management. This topic was presented by the representative of LNE (previous Aminal), David Knight;
6. Sharing our experiences and opinion on QUICK LD (Leak Detection) on VOC by infrared cameras based on our 2-year study and on-site testing of the different types of cameras
7. Giving our view on SMART LDAR, which is, opposed to QUICK LD, offering a total LDAR management tool supported with
          a. Leak equipment code tagging/labelling on an extra Autocad layer;
          b. Stream labelling on an extra Autocad layer;
          c. P&ID linking in the software;
          d. Photo integration in the software;
          e. P&ID extract integration in the software;
          f. Repair orders with photo and P&ID extract of the leak > repair definition;
          g. P&ID quality check combined with an LDAR program;
          h. A fugitive emission management software (SFEMP) in .net (SQL) version for unlimited data               storage, fast reporting and external interface option with SAP, Maximo MS office tools, Autocad,               plant 4D, microstation, PDF, etc.
8. Informing everybody about our cost reducing services which result in a huge payback:
          a. Flare losses detection and -reduction programs;
          b. Steam losses detection and -reduction programs;
          c. Storage tank emission monitoring and analyzing programs;

We hope that everybody enjoyed himself or herself. We already received the feedback that it was a big added value for everybody. We will proceed with these activities in the coming months.

We hope to welcome everyone - and many more - again in September at our 2-days seminar in Bruges (Belgium), on 13th and 14th of September 2007 to be exact, where we will also be supported by international guest speakers. Please check our website or send a request to hans.hooyberghs@the-sniffers.be, in case you would like to receive any more information about this seminar.

See you in Bruges!!!
