After having obtained his earlier degree of “Technical Pipeline Engineer” last year, Kristof Verwaest, one of our employees, has now finished the second part of the course, described as the “General Pipeline Engineering” phase. On the fifth of July, he was proud to receive his degree after a year of hard (after hours and during nights) work.

With the receipt of his 2nd degree of the Pipeline Engineer course, he is completely on schedule and can start with his master thesis stage in order to become one of the few MASTERS of Pipeline Technology. Until today, there are only 2 certified MASTERS of pipeline Technology (since February).
In the following months, he will be looking out for a project to work on as his graduation project. Many changes are ongoing within the “world of pipelines”: more supervision, more regulations, automated systems to follow-up pipeline management, the creation of pipeline transport as an official 5th transport modality, security calculations for security zones around the pipeline, transport of piece goods through pipelines, etc…

It’s obvious that the “world of pipelines” is a hot item for the future. Pipeline transport prevents local environmental pollution, uses non of the expensive ground surface (for living), etc… Good management is necessary during the whole life span, and that’s where the specialities of The Sniffers become important.
