Plant 4D project Lyondell Meuse valley

Plant-4D is a unique data object-oriented plant design software tool, which can be operated without any restrictions to any particular CAD-platform or database system.

For Lyondell, we use the combination of AutoCAD 2006 & Plant-4D. On a separate layer, we place all the tags (unique number for each equipment such as pump seal, compressor seal, valve, control valve, connection, flange, sample point, relief valve, etc). Using this system, the customer can, by a simple double-click, enter into the SFEMP (Sniffers Fugitive Emission Management Program) software and open all information about that certain equipment. On the second layer, we colour all the process lines what contain VOC. Each product combination has a different colour, and so again, by double-clicking, the customer can enter into SFEMP and find the exact stream combination of the specified line (for example “15%Ethene, 65%Propene, 30%Pentane”; is it a gas, light-liquid, etc).

By attaching the stream information on each line, we can also ask information of the equipments on a specific stream on a specific drawing. These are just a few of the possibilities of Plant-4D P&ID and Plant-4D Explorer.

The Plant-4D technology ensures full transparent compatibility with different CAD-platforms, both for drawings and data. For instance, it is possible to work on a project in AutoCAD, and simultaneously continue with the same project in microstation, without losing any information or functionality. It is also fully compatible with the following platforms: AutoDesk’s AutoCAD, Bentley’s Microstation, Oracle, SQL Server en Microsoft’s Internet Explorer.
Next to the flexibility between the different CAD-platforms that offers Plant-4D, another advantage is the stability of the software. The 'engine' of it works independently from the CAD-platform. This latter can be used for what it is intended for, which is drawing. The intelligence and the various databases run outside the CAD-platform, improving both the stability and the operating speed of the software. The modules are developed using the latest available programming methods in such a way that flexibility for the future is ensured.
