After an initial approval on Dec. 21, 2007, the
Flemish Government issued on July 18, 2008 its second
principle approval to a proposal for implementation
of technical updating of the titles I and II of
the VLAREM in view of advice to the Council of State.
On September 19, 2008 this proposal was finally

During the month of June,
The Sniffers organized 2 breakfast sessions at different
locations. These breakfast sessions were limited
to 2 hours of presentations dealing with all the
important items concerning the upcoming Belgian
law for fugitive emission management, SMART LDAR
supported by a fugitive emission software in .net
version, infrared camera’s for VOC-scanning
and other possible cost reducing services etc.,
of course after a nice breakfast to start with.

After having obtained
his earlier degree of “Technical Pipeline
Engineer” last year, Kristof Verwaest, one
of our employees, has now finished the second part
of the course, described as the “General Pipeline
Engineering” phase. On the fifth of July,
he was proud to receive his degree after a year
of hard (after hours and during nights) work.
