Leak detection dogs
Despite ongoing improvements in construction, welding, coatings and corrosion protection technology, pipelines can still develop leaks. Technical limitations prompted the development of a better method. Think of a detector which could operate with sufficient speed and sensitivity to precisely locate the leak and to evaluate the overall system in controlled conditions and actual applications. This detector is portable, can operate in varied terrain, has the ability to quickly provide readings, is able to measure very low concentrations, won't damage the environment, is able to work in most weather conditions and provides an optimal cost / benefit ratio...our unique solution = trained sniffing dogs

Our special trained dogs are available to monitor pipelines with all mentioned benefits. Two operators with dogs can inspect up to 15 kilometres a day (depending on accessibility). During the leak inspection survey, the operators will pay extra attention to missing or damaged markers, CP posts, trees on pipeline trace, take a look at the environmental circumstances, right-of-way and will point out any risks due to possible required digging companies. They are also capable to inspect and measure all pipeline pump-, valve stations on leaks with special Flame Ionisation Equipment.
Their future operator trains the dogs in-house. They are able to detect leaks which cannot be seen with the naked eye or almost not measurable with the best available detection devices.
The success of using sniffing dogs has already been proven several times when they have indicated leaks on buried pipelines, leaks in the bottom of storage tanks which we first filled with special developed tracer gas (high odour, non-toxic, non-explosive) and many other leaks which where not detectable with FID/PID or other detection devices.
